Is my Thai wife entitled to the survivor pension?+

Yes, under conditions: legal marriage (PACS excluded), 55 years minimum. Amount: 54% of basic pension + 60% Agirc-Arrco. The pension is exportable to Thailand. No nationality condition.

How to apply for the survivor pension from Thailand?+

Application by mail to CARSAT abroad (CS 13 999, Tours Cedex 9). Documents: death certificate, translated marriage certificate, ID, bank details. No online portal for a spouse without a Social Security number.

How to receive your French pension in Thailand?+

By international bank transfer to your Thai (Thai IBAN) or French account. You must send an annual certificate of life to your pension fund. The transfer arrives within 3-5 business days. Compare exchange fees between banks.

Is the certificate of life required every year?+

Yes, it is required by all French pension funds. It must be signed at the French embassy, consulate or Thai Amphur. It must be sent before the indicated deadline, otherwise pension payments will be suspended.
